Glock single stack

Yes you heard right... This is supposed to be under wraps still but I'm telling it.. I know I may get in trouble for this but my inside guy (yes I have one..or..two.lol) confirmed Glock is moving ahead with single stack concepts. I honestly don't know how I feel about this? Glock to me is supposed to be a double stacked AK of pistols but do to the success of the XDS (not a fan) Glock decided they want a piece of the pie as well. I know what you wondering and here is what I know (not super descriptive but it's something)  in the .40&9mm we will be looking at approx .90" width , 6.4" length,  17oz empty and about 20oz loaded these are approximations but the end result will be close...
Here's the big question... When will these be available, that was a question with a real sketchy answer (we all love those.lol) from what I could gather I am going to guess 12-18 months but as soon as early 2015.. Yeah I know.. Real solid date huh? Lol. What I have gathered is don't expect the cheaper price of the G42 these will be going at standard Glock rates.. So here's the real question is a Glock (if we could even call it that) with a width reduction of 3/16" and weight reduction of 1/4lb at the expense of half of standard capacity still worth a $550 price tag? To me no.
There are far to many excellent pocket pistols currently on the market in the $350 range that are already proven, if it's gym shorts weather one of those fit nicely into the pocket and it's $200 less. A Glock is meant to be a pistol with some heft to absorb some recoil and give me enough mag capacity to handle about any situation I could find myself in walking the mean streets of Omaha (yeah real hard core here, ok ok, slightly rougher than a nursing home).
In the end the decision is yours, the new Glocks will never be as small as the mouse 9mm's out there and they will be darn near double the price. I love my Glocks but I am going to pass on this one..
